Bangladesh’s apparel & clothing exports declined
to USD 14806 million during Jan-May 2023 from USD 17672 recorded in the same
period of 2022. In complete 2022 year, Bangladesh exported apparel and clothing
worth USD 41,856 million. As per Harmonized Coding System, apparel and clothing
are described under two chapters namely 61 (Knitted or Crocheted Apparel and
Clothing) and 62 (Not Knitted or Crocheted Apparel & Clothing).
Chapter-wise, Bangladesh’s exports of knitted or
crocheted apparel and clothing totaled USD 22844 million in Jan-Dec 2022 and
USD 7714 million in Jan-May 2023. The country shipped not knitted or crocheted
apparel & clothing worth USD 19012 million in Jan-Dec 2022 and USD 7092
