ICEA official has also added that deployment of the
Remission of duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme would create
a boost for electronics good export from India more than what we are seeing the
results of December 2020. The body of ICEA had written to the government of
India, enquiring for RoDTEP to be introduced before the Union Budget of 2021.
ICEA suggested that the government should decrease the custom duties on certain
components rather than increasing the custom duty.
According to ICEA, the industry is overcoming the
challenges it faced during the COVID outbreak. As further added by ICEA, right
now, the industry is on the verge of regaining its “momentum envisaged in the
National Policy on Electronics (NPE 2019)”.
