As per Kenya export data, Kenya’s top 10 exports in 2019 were Coffee, Tea, Mate & Spices (22.94%), Live Trees & Other Plants (11.03%), Mineral Fuels & Oils (7.74%), Not Knitted or Crocheted Apparel or Clothing (3.96%), Edible Vegetables & Certain Roots (3.85%), Edible Fruits & Nuts (3.5%), Ores, Slag & Ash (3.35%), Animal or Vegetable Fats & Oils (2.36%), Iron & Steel (2.31%) and Machinery (2.26%).
Kenya export statistics show Kenya’s top 10 exports accounted for 63.3% of the overall value of its global shipments recorded in 2019. As per Kenya trade data, oil seeds represent the fastest grower among the top 10 export categories, up by 240% from 2018 to 2019. In second place, not knitted or crocheted clothing & accessories posted the fastest gain in value by 92.1%.The leading decliner among Kenya’s top 10 export categories was coffee, tea & spices, which a recorded a drop in value by -62.2%. As per Kenya customs data, Kenya’s top 10 export partners in 2019 were Uganda (USD 624 million), United States (USD 508 million), Netherlands (USD 470 million), Pakistan (USD 443 million), United Kingdom (USD 391 million), United Arab Emirates (USD 379 million), Tanzania (USD 329 million), Rwanda (USD 227 million), Egypt (USD 185 million) and China (USD 148 million).
Kenya trade statistics show Kenya’s top 10 export countries accounted for 63.5% to overall value of shipments recorded in 2019. From a continental perspective, 35.2% of Kenya’s exports by value were delivered to African countries while 30.5% were sold to importers in Asia. Another 24% worth of goods were exported to European buyers. Smaller percentages recorded from North America (8.4%), Latin America excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean (0.9%) and Australia (0.5%)
